October 26 and 27th, 2009 First Lady of California, Maria Shriver, invited Maria de Lourdes "Lulu" Sobrino to participate on the 2009 Women's Conference on Long Beach, California. She joined a panel to discuss How to Start or Grown Your Own Business. This annual conference celebrates its 23rd year and will be attended by nearly 14,000 women and was held October 26 and 27th, 2009!

During the two day conference, Verizon Wireless was generous enough to give away Lulu's book, "Thriving Latina Entrepreneurs In America" and have Lulu personally sign them and talk with local entrepreneurs.
